First Look at Harriet Tubman Biopic

Some Niagara residents got an early screening of the movie Harriet.

The movie focuses on the life of Harriet Tubman and how she became the most famous conductor of the Underground Railroad.

After escaping from slavery Tubman brought her family to St. Catharines where she also set up her base of operations.

Niagara This Week talked to Rochelle Bush who is both a trustee and historian at Salem Chapel BME Church where Tubman once worshiped.

Bush says Harriet is portrayed as selfless, heroic and militant.

The movie hits theatres November 1st.
