The Hope Centre's shelter program will have five new emergency shelter beds this winter.
This is all thanks to a partnership with the Region to help make sure people in need of a place to stay have somewhere to go during the colder months.
But they should contact the shelter ahead of their stay so they can pass a COVID-19 screening in advance.
Welland Mayor Frank Campion says the pandemic will make it difficult for shelters to operate this winter but Niagara agencies are ready to step up to the challenge.
