Niagara Region Public Health has listed five beaches as unsafe for swimming.
Waverly Beach in Fort Erie and Reebs Bay in Wainfleet have been listed as unsafe due to algae.
Nelles Beach in Grimsby has been flagged for safety issues, and e.coli has been detected at Queen's Royal Beach in Niagara-on-the-Lake and Sherkston Quarry Beach in Port Colborne.
