The Ford Government has unveiled a $187-billion budget for 2020 with a record deficit of $38.5-billion.
It's also planning to set aside $45-billion for COVID-19 response over the next three years.
Niagara West MPP Sam Oosterhoff says this will protect frontline healthcare and lay the foundation for economic recovery in Niagara and beyond.
"Whether it's reducing hydro costs for a small gym in Grimsby or supporting property tax savings for a fabrication shop in Smithville, this budget is about creating a strong economy and keeping jobs in Niagara as we recover from COVID-19."
The province is also planning to cover up to 20 percent in eligible tourism expenses for Ontario residents, something Oosterhoff says will be especially important for Niagara's tourism industry.
