Award recognizes community service
Start Me Up Niagara founder and former CEO Susan Venditti is the 2021 winner of the T. Roy Adams Humanitarian Award.
Niagara Region announced Venditti as the winner, due to her experience caring for the less fortunate in our community.
Through Start Me Up Niagara, which she founded in 1998, Venditti has helped countless people suffering from issues such as poverty, homelessness, addictions and more.
This year marks the nineteenth anniversary of the award, which is given every year to a Niagara resident who is dedicated to community service.
The award was named after the late T. Roy Adams, who served as Mayor of St. Catharines from 1976 to 1985 and as a Regional Councilor from 1988 to 2002.
