Joe Spadafora was 75
The City of Welland has lost one of its former councillors.
Ward 2 representative Joe Spadafora has died, he was 75.
Mayor Frank Campion released a statement saying Spadafora served over two decades, adding the former councillor was a dedicated, intelligent and friendly representative of the people.
The mayor says in Spadafora's last meeting as councillor, he was quoted as saying "but what I've come to recognize and really appreciate more is the fact that the people liviing in Welland are really fighters, they're really resilient."
