Fort Erie homeowners will have to pay more for water and wastewater this year.
Council has given final approval to a Water and Wastewater Operating Budget for 2020.
It's $19.3-million, which is a 2.13 percent increase when compared to 2019.
This is thanks to a 1.14 percent decrease in Town costs, and a 2.27 increase for Niagara Region treatment costs.
Director of Corporate Services Jonathan Janzen says water bills will be going up 2.05 percent for the average homeowner.
He says it works out to $2.46 per month, or just under $30 per year.
