Driver caught going 113 km/h near elementary school
A Fort Erie man is facing speeding and stunt driving charges.
Around 3:30 Monday afternoon, an officer was conducting speed enforcement at an elementary school on Netherby Road near Stevensville Road in Fort Erie.
The officer saw a whilte Chevrolet Silverado traveling at a high speed as it approached the intersection.
It swerved around a vehicle that was turning right, and continued through the intersection.
Police say the car was traveling at 113 km/h in a 60 km/h zone.
A traffic stop was conducted, and the driver, a 30 year old man from Fort Erie was issued provincial offence notices for speeding and stunt driving.
The man's licence was seized.
He was given a 30 day license suspension, and his vehicle was seized and towed for 14 days.
Police say there were several school buses and parents lined up along the shoulder of the road, waiting to pick up children.
