Today is "Test it Tuesday", a day to ensure your home has working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.
The Fort Erie Fire Department is reminding residents to do their part to keep their homes safe.
Today is "Test it Tuesday", and the public is being asked to ensure all carbon monoxide and smoke alarms in the house are working properly.
When tested properly, a working smoke alarm will beep three times, pause, and then beep three more times.
Meanwhile, carbon monoxide alarms should beep four times, pause, and then beep another four times.
The fire department says working smoke alarms will warn you when there is smoke in your house, and a working carbon monoxide alarm will tell you when carbon monoxide is in your home.
