Fort Erie's On-Demand Transit service kicking off October 4th.
A heads up to transit users in Fort Erie.
The Town of Fort Erie is switching from a fixed-route service to an on demand system.
The change will take effect October 4th.
Kelly Walsh, Director of Infrastructure Services, says the new service will better serve the needs of visitors and residents.
"Switching from fixed-route service to on-demand service was done to provide residents a more flexible and convenient way to get to and from their destinations within Town boundaries."
Users can request a ride through a new On-Demand Transit app that's available at the Apple store and Google Play."
Ride requests can also be made by boarding an ODT vehicle or by calling 1-833-BUS-LINE.
The service will take riders within the Fort Erie boundaries for $3 per trip.
