Translates to about 6$ a month
Property taxes are going up roughly $6 a month this year in Fort Erie, and that's before the regional government's portion, and the educational amount.
The town passed the 2025 budget last month, with a 4.95% increase.
However, once the regional and educational amount is added, that brings the increase to almost $20.
Mayor Wayne Redekop says the town is growing, using about $600,000 in development charges from in-coming business for tax incentives.
It's also spending $3-million to upgrade Thunder Bay road, and $2-million for road resurfacing.
