You might want to top up that gas tank today
An energy analyst forecasting gas prices will climb to a new record tomorrow.
The president of Canadians for Affordable Energy, Dan McTeague says he expects prices to rise by about five cents a litre to around $1.95.
That would be up from the current average of 1.90 a litre at most gas stations.
McTeague says a decision by the European Union to ban the purchase of Russian oil by the end of the year, and the eventual lifting of COVID-19 lockdowns in China, are likely to push prices even higher.
The analyst is predicting prices around two bucks a litre this summer
