Staff shortages forcing Metrolinx to cut train and bus service
If you are a regular GO Transit user expect more service disruptions next week.
Metrolinx announcing staff shortages due to Omicron will force it to cut GO Train and bus service by 15 percent starting Monday.
The provincial transit agency says staffing levels are being impacted 30 per cent each day as a result of the virus which means fewer employees to operate trains, drive buses, maintain and clean vehicles.
Metrolinx adding “Cancelled trains will not always be able to be replaced by buses as every part of the business is affected by high absenteeism.”
Customers are asked to check the new schedules starting Monday.
