Over $1.6 million invested to bring high-speed internet to families, farms and businesses in Chantler, Beckett's Bridge and O'Reilly's Bridge
The federal and provincial governments have teamed up to expand high speed internet service in Niagara.
Niagara MPs Vance Badawey and Chris Bittle were on hand for the announcement today, as well as MPP Sam Oosterhoff.
"Providing reliable internet access is especially important for rural communities to prosper in our increasingly digital world," said Badawey. "Today’s announcement will ensure that homes, businesses, and farms in the Niagara Region can connect to essential online services and enjoy the additional economic opportunities made available through high-speed internet."
Over $1.6 million is being invested to bring high speed internet to 677 local families, farms and businesses.
The federal and provincial governments have partnered with Southwest Integrated Fibre Technology Inc., the expand broadband service in the communities of Chantler, Becketts Bridge and O'Reilly's Bridge.
This is part of a goal to bring high speed internet to over 63,000 homes and businesses in Southwestern Ontario by the end of 2023.
