A grade three class is doing their part to encourage people to adopt older animals.
After getting a virtual tour of the Lincoln County Humane Society, third grade students at Central Public School are putting their writing skills to work.
Each student was assigned one older pet that is currently up for adoption and tasked with writing a persuasive letter to potential adopters on the animal's behalf.
The DSBN says the students have also gone the extra mile by collecting donations of food, toys, and treats for the shelter.
You can out more about the animals the students are trying to help here.
