Latest municipality to give proposal green light
The move comes on the heels of the launch last year of Grimsby's first ever local transit service, NRT OnDemand.
Since it started in August of 2020, the town says there have been over 25,000 rides completed from or within the town.
To date Welland city council is the only one so far that has expressed concerns and asked for a deferral on the plan to create one region wide transit system.
To move the project forward, a majority of Niagara's 12 municipalities with a majority of electors must say yes to the proposal.
