One player hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries after being intentionally hit in the head by a goalie during a hockey tournament.
A 17 year old male from Grimsby is facing charges in connection to an assault in Lincoln.
Police say over the weekend of December 10th to the 12th, a minor hockey tournament was held in Grimsby and Lincoln.
During a December 10th game at the Fleming Memorial Arena, a goalie intentionally hit an opposing player in the head with their stick.
The suspect was taken out of the game and tournament.
The victim was taken to hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect has been charged with Assault with a Weapon.
A future court date has been scheduled.
Under the Youth Criminal Justice Act of Canada, the name of the 17 year old suspect cannot be released.
