Police say popular game typically leads to weapons calls
A warning from Halton police to teens, don’t play the Assassins Game.
In a tweet, police warning kids, kind of tongue in cheek, in Burlington, Oakville and Milton to “do your homework and go to bed early.”
Every few years the game has a resurgence in popularity.
The rules are simple, players try to kill each other off using mock or fake weapons or Nerf guns in an effort to become the last surviving player.
But police say the problem is it often leads to a lot of weapons calls from the public who don’t know the weapons are fake and the participants are playing a game.
