Provincial government says the work at West Harbour is good news for those heading to and from Niagara
GO train service from Niagara Falls through to Hamilton and beyond is about to improve.
The provincial government says work on the West Harbour GO station, including a recent upgrade, is done, meaning travellers from Niagara will save roughly 15 minutes per roundtrip.
The government say West Harbour previously had a dead-end track that required trains to back in and out of the station, but now it's connected to the main Lakeshore west line.
All trains heading to and from Niagara will now stop at West Harbour GO.
This also means there will be service to the future Confederation GO station in east Hamilton.
The government adds this will all happen in the coming weeks, once testing of the new track is done.
