Health Canada has given approval to administer the Pfizer-BioNTech shot to kids 12 and older.
The health agency made the announcement today, after initially authorizing it for people 16 and older.
Pfizer was the first vaccine to be greenlit for use in Canada.
Today's announcment comes after a U.S. trial of over 2,200 kids between the ages of 12 and 15 recorded no cases of the virus among vaccinated youth.
The trial used the same size dose, as well as the two-shot requirement, as it does for adults.
