Trails were closed yesterday after human remains were discovered by staff
Heartland Forest Past Chair Douglas Kane posting a notice on the sites Facebook page saying, yesterday staff located what is believed to be human remains in an area near the rear of the forest.
Police were notified and began conducting an investigation on site.
Police tell us they have called in a forensic anthropologist to assist with the investigation.
Kane writes while the trails were closed for the investigation they have since been reopened, although there may still be a police presence on the property.
