The Region is encouraging those who don't have a Green Bin to buy one sooner rather than later.
Niagara is switching to every-other-week garbage collection starting October 19th but recycling and organics will still be collected weekly.
More than 2,000 Niagara residents have picked up a new Green Bin since the Region launched its Box It. Bin It. Sort It campaign in June 17th.
They cost $17 but you are entitled to a free one if you just moved to the Region less than a year ago.
You can find a list of bin distribution locations online here.
