Watermain break behind the closure of the St. Catharines school
Niagara Catholic announcing Holy Cross Secondary School in St. Catharines will be closed for the rest of the week due to flooding.
The board says a weekend watermain break flooded the school's basement and despite efforts yesterday to pump out the water, a fair amount remains.
Once the water is removed, officials will access the amount of damage and necessary repairs.
Today will be another day of asynchronous learning and then the board hopes to shift to synchronous learning for the rest of the week.
The board says details are included in an email sent to families yesterday afternoon.
