Ontario government voted down eliminating paid parking, Nova Scotia government did opposite
An attempt to eliminate parking fees at hospitals has been voted down by the Ontario government.
Niagara Centre MPP Jeff Burch tabled a motion on behalf of families and hospital workers, which also asked for the government to cover any revenue shortfalls so hospitals don't have to.
The NDP says Nova Scotia's Conservative government recently did away with the fees, and to cover the shortfall of money.
In response, Jeff Burch said we should not be taxing the sick to cover hospital deficits, but today, the government chose parking revenue over patients.
