While the Foundation's signature fundraising event for the year has been postponed, Hotel Dieu Shaver has reached 90 percent of its goal.
For the second consecutive year, Hotel Dieu Shaver has been forced to postpone the 2022 Celebrity Ice Cup, its main fundraising event of the year.
The foundation says money raised was expected to be used to purchase patient care equipment totaling $100,000.
Despite the setback, the Foundation has reached 90 percent of its fundraising goal, with the help of two local businesses.
Mountainview Building Group donated $75,000 towards a new Driving Simulator, a common therapy tool used at Hotel Dieu Shaver.
An additional $15,000 was brought in by WMKL Chartered Professional Accountants to fund priority patient care equipment.
The hospital is reaching out to the public to help raise the remaining $10,000.
