A healthcare worker at Hotel Dieu Shaver has tested positive for COVID-19.
Officials say they work in Unit 1 West but they had not been to work for a considerable amount of time before their diagnosis.
They were also not showing any symptoms of the virus while they were on the job.
The worker is now self-isolating at home.
An outbreak has not been declared, so the unit will continue to accept patients at this time.
Hotel Dieu Shaver is monitoring the situation closely with Niagara Region Public Health.
