UPDATE: The NRP has identified the human remains but it will not be releasing the name out of respect for next of kin.
Foul play is not suspected.
Police are investigating after a body was found in St. Catharines.
Someone hiking in Burgoyne Woods came across the human remains on Friday afternoon and called police. Niagara Regional Police have not identified the body.
Forensic services and the office of the coroner are investigating.
Anyone with information should call police.
