Police say the suspect, from Thorold, was arrested Tuesday, police found a gun in vehicle
A 25-year old Thorold man remains in jail after charged with impaired driving at Sherkston Shores resort, and having a gun.
Police were called early Tuesday evening, stopped the driver, and determined he was impaired by alcohol, he was arrested.
Police then found the loaded gun.
Donovan Smith is facing five charges:
- Impaired Operation of a Conveyance
- Possess a Prohibited Firearm Without Holding a License
- Careless Storage of a Firearm
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
- Possess a Loaded Regulated Firearm
He had a bail hearing yesterday, but remains in jail.
He also received a 90-day licence suspension and 7-day vehicle impoundment.
