The Minister of Labour, Training and Skills Development was asked about the new minimum wage and the labour shortage facing Ontario right now.
The Minister of Labour, Training and Skills Development Monte McNaughton called into the radio station today to talk about news of the new $15 minimum wage.
In the interview, Minister McNaughton discusses the following:
- The minimum wage legislation being part of the Fall Economic Outlook.
- Does this wage increase go far enough, given that most people cannot live on the minimum wage in Ontario.
- How employers can cope with the increase as they try to rebound from the pandemic.
