It's Bike Month

OPP have some tips for drivers and cyclists to make sure we have a safe summer

The OPP are reminding bicycle and vehicle drivers to respect all road users by making safety a top priority, as we mark Bike Month.

Police say there have been 34 collisions including fatalities involving a vehicle and a cyclist so far this year.

Provincial police remind drivers to maintain at minimum a one metre distance when passing a cyclist and to watch for passing cyclists when opening door into traffic.

Cyclists are reminded to ride in a single file,  keep to the right side of the road to help vehicles make a safe pass and to stop at stop signs when approaching an intersection.
