Man in his thirties facing charges.
The Niagara Falls Fire Department and Niagara Parks Police Service were called to rescue a kayaker on the Niagara River on Saturday afternoon.
Officials responded to the control gates above the Canadian Horseshoe Falls, where a kayaker was spotted in prohibited waters near the International Control Dam.
The man, who is in his thirties, has been charged under the Canada Shipping Act with Operating Vessel Where Prohibited and Operating Human Powered Pleasure Craft Without Prescribed Life Saving Appliances on Board.
