It's the first development to break ground in Welland's new River Road Industrial Subdivision.
Kit Steel has started construction on a 12,787 square foot rebar fabrication facility.
It should generate about $8.26-million of private sector investment for the Rose City.
Mayor Frank Campion says it will also create jobs and opportunities for local businesses.
The subdivision consists of 25 acres along River Road and Downs Drive.
