More indications the latest wave has reached its peak
The most recent wave of the COVID-19 pandemic may be in the early stages of plateauing, with the latest data showing little or no change in most public health indicators over the last week.
The Ministry of Health says that there are now 1,492 people in hospitals testing positive for COVID-19, compared to 1,483 at this time last week.
Of those people, 138 are in intensive care.
The pace of the increase marks a significant departure from last Thursday when COVID-19 hospitalizations had risen by more than 50 per cent week-over week.
Niagara Health is currently has 49 people admitted to hospital with COVID, 22 of those being primarily treated for the virus and 2 people are in the ICU for COVID.
