'Leave Cookies for Criminals': MP

Niagara West MP Dean Allison railed against the Liberal government for its lax crime and bail laws

Niagara West Conservative MP Dean Allision venting frustration against the governing Liberals, accusing them of unleashing a crime wave in Niagara never seen before.

Last week he stood in the House of Commons, telling of a Niagara Regional police checklist for the public called the 9pm routine.

He read what was posted online.  "It's 9pm, Niagara, have you completed your hashtag 9pm routine?  Ensure that all your valuables are secured, cars, windows, doors are locked, and alarms are activated, if you have them.  This follows on the heels of York and Toronto police telling you to leave your keys by the front door, and lock yourself in the closet while criminals steal from your home."

He sarcastically added the only thing not included is leaving a full tank of gas and cookies at the door.

He then called out what he says is Liberal law.  "Liberal Bill C-5 eliminated mandatory minimum sentences for serious violent crimes.  Bill C-75 requires judges to release accused offenders at the earliest possible opportunity under the least onerous conditions."

He said criminals know they can get away with anything, and be out on bail soon after arrest.
