A Niagara politician continues to face troubles after his appearance at an anti-lockdown protest in St. Catharines.
According to the St. Catharines Standard, West Lincoln Mayor David Bylsma received a summons to appear in court today.
Bylsma has been widely criticized for speaking at the rally, and was replaced in his role in West Lincoln's Emergency Operations Centre.
He's not the only local politician to be fined for attending the rally.
Thorold city councilor Jim Handley and former St. Catharines regional councilor Andy Petrowski were also issued tickets for appearing at the protest.
In Ontario, outdoor gatherings are capped to a maximum of five people, and individuals who don't comply risk a fine of $880.
The protest attracted over 1,000 people, and another rally is being organized for Niagara Falls this weekend.
