Charles Burland served as President of the Niagara Clifton Group since 1990.
Niagara Falls has lost a leader in its tourism industry.
Niagara Clifton Group president Charlie Burland died on December 23rd at the age of 54.
In 1925, Burland's grandfather, Charles Inglis Burland, bought the property that now houses the Travelodge hotel on Clifton Hill.
Many of the area's biggest attractions were built in the 60s including Ripley's Believe it Or Not and the House of Frankenstein.
Charlie took over operations in the 1990s.
Burland also served as a volunteer firefighter in Niagara on the Lake for 17 years.
