Feds hint at relaxed restrictions starting next month
Much confusion surrounding the opening for the Canada U-S border to non essential travel.
Yesterday, Federal Health Minister Patty Hajdu announced fully-vaccinated Canadians will be able to travel outside of the country without having to self-isolate for 14 days or having to stay in a quarantine hotel upon arrival.
But she gave no firm date when that will happen only sometime as early as next month
Meantime, in an interview with Politico, Niagara Falls Mayor Jim Diodati says our federal Public Safety Minister Bill Blair hinted during a meeting with Canadian and US border mayors, the feds are looking at a border reopening date of June 22nd.
But Diodati did emphasize that date is not set in stone.
And Western New York Congressman Chris Jacobs this week introduced a bill in the House, demanding a report in the next 30 days from Homeland Security and the CDC detailing communications with the Canadian government on the reopening of the border.
