Majority of Niagara Region Employees Fully Vaccinated

Over 98 percent of active employees fully immunized against COVID-19.

The Niagara Region says over 98 percent of active employees are fully immunized against COVID-19.

In September 2021, a mandatory vaccination policy was enacted for all Regional employees.

Currently, about 4,100 employees covered under the policy are fully immunized, which accounts for 98.4 percent of staff.

Staff were given a February 14th deadline to prove their vaccination status or face termination with just cause.

Sixty-six staff members not in compliance were terminated.
