NRP say it started with an American youth, leading them to a Welland home and the internet
Niagara Regional police instrumental in breaking apart the sexual extortion of youth around the world, with origin in Welland.
In September, the NRP started looking into the exploitation of a youth in the United States, after they were alerted by American authorities, which led them to searching a Welland home last Thursday.
Police say they found evidence suggesting 32-year old Dylan Allan Smith was using the internet to sexually extort children under 18 in Canada, the US and globally.
Yesterday, police found the suspect, and charged him with possession of child porn, he has a bail hearing today.
Police add he is known to use many profile names to extort teenagers:
“Dopious”, “Poloipoloi”, “Addipoloi”, “Dandatsy”, “Dmanslam”, “Daddypoloi”
Police are appealing for public assistance to help them identify the numerous victims found on the suspect's electronic devices.
