Police say it happened while the girl was walking in St. Catharines, Child Abuse Unit took over investigation
A 27-year old St. Catharines man has been charged with child luring after a teenaged girl was sexually assaulted.
Police say they were called just after 9pm, June 11th, to a Niagara Falls home concerning a sexual assault that happened while the girl was walking in the Geneva and North Service Road area of St. Catharines.
Due to the circumstances of the interaction, the child abuse unit took over.
Yesterday, police arrested Achraf Ghalil, laying a number of charges:
- Sexual Assault
- Sexual Interference with a Person Under 16 Years of Age
- Invitation to Sexual Touching Under 16 Years of Age
- Luring a Child to Commit Sexual Assault
He remains in custody, with a bail hearing today.
