Man Faces List of Driving Offences

Police found a truck being driven without authorized plates, driver fled when confronted

A St. Catharines man is facing a long list of charges after running from police during a traffic stop.

It all started yesterday afternoon at around 2, when police noticed a pickup truck being driven in the Queenston and Ida Street area with plates that weren't authorized for that vehicle.  

They stopped the truck, but the driver ran off.

Police say 40-year old Joshua Stevens returned a short time later, and was charged with:

  • Flight From Police (CC)
  • Fail to Comply with Release Order (CC)
  • Use Plate Not Authorized (HTA)
  • Driving While Under Suspension (HTA)
  • Driver Fail to Surrender Licence (HTA)
  • Fail to Surrender Permit for Motor Vehicle (HTA)
  • Drive Motor Vehicle, No Currently Validated Permit (HTA)
  • Fail to Apply for Permit on Becoming Owner (HTA)
  • Obstruct Plate (HTA)
  • Drive Motor Vehicle No Licence (HTA)
  • Fail to Surrender Insurance Card (CAIA)
  • Owner Operate Motor Vehicle on Highway – No Insurance (CAIA)

Police add he has a bail hearing today, the truck seized for 7-days.
