Update: Thursday morning

We're getting a better description from police of the suspect wanted in this shooting.

Thanks to video footage provided, they say the suspect has a slim build, wore black, slim fit track pants, dark coloured shoes, white socks, a black hooded sweatshirt with a white shirt underneath.

He was also carrying a blue, reusable shopping bag.

Police add he was last seen running south on Kelson Road, from the South Service Road.

Police also believe this was a targeted shooting, and believe there's no threat to public safety.

Original Story:

Police are asking everyone to stay away from the scene of a shooting in Grimsby tonight.

Niagara and Hamilton police were called just before 8, concerning a shooting that happened on the South Service Road near Kelson Road, by the Grimsby/Stoney Creek border.

They found one man had been shot, and taken to a trauma centre for injuries considered serious but not life-threatening.

Police also say another man, the suspect, remains at large and was last seen on foot on the South Service Road, heading toward Hamilton.

There is no suspect description yet, other than he was wearing dark clothing.

That's all police can tell us right now, and if anyone knows anything, or has video footage of anything that could help police, give them a call.
