Fisheries Minister posting online today she's granted conditional approval to move the whales to US
Marineland has been given conditional approval to move it's whales to American aquariums.
Federal Minister of Fisheries Joanne Thompson posted to X today, that she met with Marineland concerning it's request, saying it was a constructive meeting.
She writes she has provided conditional approval for export permits, and will issue the final permits once final required information is received from Marineland.
She indicates her decision was guided on what's in the best interest of the 30 beluga whales and remaining dolphins.
As for specifics on when this happens, that was not provided.
