Welland Mayor Frank Campion prefers 4-city model, which Chair Gale is considering in his bid to change current regional government
Amid much of the criticism against Regional Chair Bob Gale's desire to change the region's government structure, there is a voice in agreement.
Welland Mayor Frank Campion indicating in a release he favours the 4-city model, as opposed to one city, or other potential options.
He says this would better align muncipalities by population and shared interests, reduce duplication and streamline decision making, and preserve meaningful local representation.
It would also strengthen coordination on housing, transit, infrastructure delivery and economic development, and give Niagara residence a government this is efficient.
