NASA's Perseverance rover is nearing its date with celestial destiny.
The six-wheeled vehicle is expected to land on the Red Planet today
Once the rover lands, a Brock University Earth Sciences professor will begin her third mission.
Mariek Schmidt, a volcanolgist, is once again a participating scientist with the NASA Mars mission.
And she says part of the goal is to look for signs of potential life.
The Brock prof is the only scientist from a Canadian Institution and is one of 13 participating scientists who were chosen for the role from 119 applicants.
