The provincial NDP are supporting the Ontario Science Table’s call for circuit breaker measures to stop the spread of the Omicron variant.
Opposition NDP Leader Andrea Horwath says she backs the call to immediately reduce everyone’s contacts by 50 per cent.
Horwath accused the Premier of avoiding action while Omicron bulldozed its way across Ontario
Horwath says Doug Ford put us in the position where we need a circuit breaker to avoid completely overwhelming hospitals and causing schools and businesses to shut down. The NDP leader adding reducing capacity everywhere is our best chance to avoid shutdowns.
Meanwhile, Quebec's Premier not wasting anytime trying to contain the spread of the variant.
Francois Legault says vaccinations aren't enough to stop the transmission.
Starting Monday in Quebec, all bars, restaurants, retail stores and places of worship will be limited to 50 per cent capacity
