Travel up since Canadian border reopened to vaccinated Americans
Our local tourism industry definitely getting a boost since the border reopened to fully vaccinated American travellers.
New government stats show just over 218,000 non commercial travellers entered Canada by land between August 9th and the 15th.
That’s a 111 percent increase from the week before.
But compare that to 2019, when over a million travellers entered Canada during the same week before the start of the pandemic.
