New crosswalk in front of Richmond Street Public School.
Students at Richmond Street Public School in Thorold are giving the new crosswalk outside their school the "stomp" of approval.
"It’s great to see the crosswalk in front of Richmond Street School come to life," said Geoff Holman, Director of public works and community services. "We’ve scheduled a crossing guard at this location three times throughout the school day to help ensure Richmond Street School students are able to get to and from school safely."
Two contractors were used to install the crosswalk at the intersection of Park Lane and Richmond Street.
Students began using the new crosswalk today.
A crossing guard will be at the crosswalk Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
