Niagara-on-the-Lake has decided to cut back the operating hours for the Alters Community Centre.
It's now going to be open from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on weekdays and from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the weekends.
Acting Manager of Parks and Rec Dan Maksenuk says this is due to a declining number of people using the gym.
"Staff has decided to temporarily reduce hours of operation in order to adequately maintain fiscal responsibility amid user changes."
The town will see how this goes and reconsider the new hours four weeks from now.
