Niagara College is going to use a $50,000 from the federal government to purchase a new biomedically compatible 3D printer.
It's going to benefit local COVID-19 research projects which include addressing special needs modifications for face shields and masks.
The printer is going to be located at the Walker Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Centre at the Welland Campus.
The money is coming from the Exceptional Opportunities Fund, which is currently supporting 79 research projects across the country.
